We had a bad cruise previously on Oceana but decided to give P & O another go as we had previously had a lovely time on their cruises and we were glad we did. Britannia is a lovely ship and we enjoyed our holiday on her very much. We decided to try a different destination and the number of nights away suited us perfectly. We like to travel from Southampton as we are not keen on flying, embarkation went smoothly and we opted for the early self disembarkation which we would not ideally recommend to everyone due to length of time it took and we struggled a bit with all our suitcases.
We had a balcony cabin which was very specious. We enjoyed the entertainment and found the service to be good in the Restaurants and Bars. We watched a couple of films and went to a couple of talks but spent a lot of time in the hot tubs when not on shore.
We did not take any of the ships shore excursions as we are always happy to do our own thing walking around and enjoying the scenery. We started the cruise on 2nd setting for dinner but then opted for freedom dining and were pleased we did as we met some very nice people and the food was very good, we are vegetarians and found plenty of choice. The Crows nest is an excellent bar with lovely views especially at night time.
We loved all the ports of call, A balcony allows you to see so much more of the scenery when entering and leaving ports. We loved the snow topped mountains and the waterfalls best.
