We were bumped over to the Majesty of the Seas after our Empress of the Seas sailing was cancelled. We were somewhat concerned about our experience on the Majesty, given the poor reviews here and elsewhere. It was overall a positive experience, and better than we expected.

What was good: We were pleasantly surprised by Royal Caribbean's food and staff. This was our first experience on RCL, with the bulk of our prior cruise experiences on Celebrity and Princess. While no means gourmet, we thought both the Dining Room and Windjammer food and service were well above average. Staff was very positive and welcoming, with great energy and desire to please. Franky, our server in the dining room, was excellent. Kenroy, our cabin steward, was also excellent. For a 24 year old ship, Majesty of the Seas is in fairly good shape. (It was headed into a drydock after our sailing, but was very clean and crew were constantly doing work on it.) While it doesn't have the whiz and bang of the newer ships, it certainly did the job for a cheap vacation. It pales in comparison to previous ships we've been on, but it was certainly fine for the price point.

As Diamond Level members (because of our status on Celebrity), we were treated royally. Free drinks, friendly loyalty desk, and nice Diamond Lounge each evening.

Nice cabin....walls are a little thin. Mattresses need replacing! Overall, I was impressed at the way it was maintained.
