Part I

My two daughters, 15 and 17, and my wife and I, both 45, embarked on the Crown Princess on the March 15th 2009 sailing. I always tell myself that I'm going to write a thorough review when I get home. And then work, kids, time commitments bring me back to reality so harshly, after a few days - I'm no longer motivated. So, I've determined to try to write this review during the cruise. It is now Tuesday afternoon, first sea day, and I've got about an hour until I need to leave for formal night dinner. Here are some of my thoughts so far.

Embarkation at Ft. Lauderdale: It was a breeze. By far the easiest embarkation we have ever had. We have previously sailed Disney, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival. This is our first time on Princess - I don't know if all Princess embarkations are this smooth, but this is definitely the standard we will compare all future embarkations to. Instead of dropping my family off at the drop off point and then parking, we choose to park our car and do some final packing. (We had just driven from Tulsa Oklahoma after all!) We needed about 10 minutes to do some stuffing of water bottles into suitcases and making sure all luggage was tagged. It was no problem carrying our luggage to the elevator and when we got off on the ground floor, it was a close walk to the luggage drop off point. If you are more organized then we were, by all means, drop off the family and luggage first, and then park.

Cabin Review

Excellent Cabin. Loved the half covered balcony. Balcony has 4 chairs and a table.
