Ship Facts: Celebrity Summit Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Summit Deck Plans
3-14 Summit was AMAZING!
Background information on me, early 40'ish yr old woman sailing solo, this was my third cruise having previously had a good time on RCI's Majesty of the Seas and an absolutely horrible time on the Caribbean Princess last year. Any worries I had before this trip were blown out of the water!

Ship - Spotless and well laid out. Helpful signage everywhere and if a staff member saw you looking they always offered to direct you to where you were going. Cabin and balcony was about the same size as other lines but much more nicely appointed than either RCI or Princess. Shower was quite a bit bigger than Princess as well. Lotion and shampoo dispensers are a nice touch. Cabin steward was very efficient and I hardly ever saw him. While I never thought I would say this, I loved the towel animals. How they make towels into what he did is beyond me, birds, turtles, monkeys hanging from the curtains, flowers etc.

Buffet/Pool Grill Food - While I am generally not a fan of buffets, I have to say this was one of the better ones. The pizza, omelettes and little sandwiches in the afternoon were great. Burgers, wings and fries out by the pool were always good too. The only thing that was a tad annoying is that it never seemed like what was open when was consistent. Not a big deal in any case. I hardly went hungry during the day.

Dining room and food- Very nicely laid out and I never encountered the "soft spots" in the floor that so many have posted about here. Service was uniformly excellent across the board from day one. Wait staff remembered preferences which was appreciated. Dinners were really good to great every night with a good variety to choose from every night. Great wine selection and service. Prices were about comparable to home. Only negative was that the waiter would always bring a dessert whether I wanted it or not and got all pouty when I wouldn't eat much of it.

Champagne/Martini Bar/Poolside drink service - The first and last night offered "flights" in the Champagne/Martini bar which was great. A little taste of six different drinks. Drink service at the pool was fine, appreciated that they were not constantly pushing something or other all day long.

Workshops on Board - Participated in both the Food and Wine Comparative pairing and the Riedel Wine glass workshops. Both were excellent with great wines and were really well done.

Nightclub/Music in general - Revelations night club was generally pretty crowded although I thought the various "games" could have been conducted earlier in the evening leaving more time to crank the tunes instead of playing the Newlywed game at 11:00 at night. While the ages on the boat appeared to be 20's to 70's the music was really skewed to the Elvis/Beach Blanket Bingo and Moonlight Serenade eras all over the ship with the exception of the first night or two in Revelations. I like a pretty wide range of music but would have much preferred to have more current stuff in more places.

Excursions - Did the High Hopes, High Ropes tour in Dominica, loved it! But you have to be in pretty decent shape or it might not be so much fun. Went on the Whale and Dolphin spotting tour in Grenada and unfortunately did not see a single fish. Boat was pretty small and seas ended up being a bit rough. Also went on the tour that goes to the Butterfly Farm and Aloe production facility and the Natural Bridge which was good as well. Great pictures from that one!

Disembarkation - Pretty painless and no problems with the luggage thankfully. Cabbed it back to the airport.

All in all this was a great trip! Can't say enough good things about it. Would not hesitate for a second to book again on this same agenda or another Celebrity cruise.
