Ships docked .....Swimming with the dolphins in port.

We chose this cruise because we loved the ports and the sea days in between. The cruise was a back to back 14 days eastern and western Carribean. The change over day after the first week was very well handled, we didn't have to change rooms. Before the new guests got on board we were given new cruise cards for the next week and allowed to go off.

It was the spring holiday for the Americans so embankment was very busy, long queues in the hot sun. The roads very busy getting to the port with lots of hold ups, which made us late arriving at Ft Lauderdale. Once on the ship everything went smoothly and as we had been on other Princess ships it was easy to find our way round, although on some lifts you couldn't access all the floors. The ship was spotless and all the staff were very attentive. The food was excellent in all resurants. We loved the International cafe to stop and get snacks and nice coffees.

Our cabin was in a good position not too far from the lifts with no noise at all. My husband does smoke so it was handy for him to pop up to level 17 back of the ship where you could sit and have a smoke and relax in good sitting which other ships don't always offer this facility. There was also a dipping pool up there as well as sun bathing areas for the smokers. I sat up the to sun bath although I'm not a smoker and found it quite comfortable with staff serving drinks etc. There is also an indoor area for smokers The Churchill on floor 6 which was handy for my husband if we were around the ship in the evening. We only went on one excursion which was good value the rest of the ports we had been before so we found our own way around.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin BA

We found the cabin a little smaller then other Princess cruises but there was adequate storage for all our clothes. The bathroom was as other ships although I can't see why Princess can't have a shower door instead of the shower curtain. The balcony was quite small in size compared again to other Princess ships.

Port Reviews

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Very good except for queuing on embarking.

Princess Cays

We didn't take an excursion we just got off the ship ourselves and had a walk around beach. It was very busy wouldn't be too fussed about going there again.

St. Thomas

We took our selves to a land marked beach but they were very crowded and hard to get chairs, we didn't get off early enough.

St. Maarten

We have been here several times and it's easy to get around, fab for shopping and friendly eating places.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Went to the 7 mile beach but again very busy and it would be better to pay the ships excursion so they take you to the private beaches.

Costa Maya

Lovely friendly place with lots of eating places, we watched the Dolphins in the port area they were amazing.
