We had been receiving brochures for years, and I finally convinced my husband to do the trip. We loved everything about it. The smaller ship, the wonderful food, the included tours and guides, entertainment aboard ship, the interesting cities/towns we visited, and the amazing crew. The ship was beautiful - sleek lines and understated decor, lots of common areas, inside and out, Two venues for eating - buffet and dining room/servers, and the menu was interesting, varied, and delicious, and the complementary beer/wine at lunch and dinner was lovely. The crew was professional, very friendly, and always helpful. I especially enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere; every minute of every day was not filled with activities. Lectures, demonstrations, and the evening entertainment was sufficient for me.
The included walking/bus tours were so interesting, and the guides were so knowledgeable and informative, and we enjoyed all our ports of call. We met many interesting and friendly people, from the US, Canada, and Australia. I especially enjoyed the Canadians perceptive comments on our present political situation in the US.
My husband has MS, and we were so fortunate that the ship had 2 extra wheel chairs on board, and he was able to be included in 90% of the tours, 1 of which was labeled "leisure". I would recommend future passengers to look into bringing a wheel chair on board so they can participate in the walking tours. I would love to do another cruise, and Viking would be my 1st choice. They have thought of everything!
Cabin was lovely - at water line, and fun to see the river flow by just feet below our window.
Staff was helpful, especially w/my husband who has MS. The did not make us wait in line, and he was offered a wheel chair.
Interesting - informative
Lovely!
Unbelievable palace
Bus tour and walking tour very interesting. Alex, our guide, was very helpful getting my husband, who was in a wheel chair, down from the castle - VERY steep
Loved the walking tour and seeing the cathedral
