Choose Princess cruises to try a more upmarket experience then we have had previously so decided on a two night Sydney to Brisbane cruise to get a sample so to speak. No problems with embarkation except told to embark at 2.30pm and by time got on board told compulsory boat drill at 3.15.pm so had only short time to wolf down a quick lunch in the buffet.
Had cabin with balcony. Double bed was two singles put together. Cabin not big but ok. Smallest bathroom I have ever seen. Cheap plastic shower screen. Free bottle of wine. Also $15 credit each [only two nights remember] Had dinner in buffet. Typical buffet style food and you served yourself so nothing special there. Glad to see that girl at door reminded those guests who didnt use sanitiser to kindly use them. Also noticed staff constantly wiping railings etc. Buffet was quite large so a bit noisy when full. Also most of the passengers were ''mature'' to put it kindly but the background taped music was obviously more suited to the younger generation so we found it very annoying [I am 67, wife 62]. As soon as you sit down to eat a waiter will approach you to ask if you want a drink, thats fine but once I had three waiters within 2 minutes ask me if I wanted a drink.
We went to sit by the pool but it had one of those huge TV screens and the volume nearly blasted us off the ship at times [note to self, if you want peace and quite dont go to main pool] Night two we planned to go to dinning room for dinner but a miscommunication with staff resulted in our being unable to go to dinning room so we ended up in the Buffet again.
Bit on the small side. Bed a bit hard. Fridge ok. Bathroom smallest I have ever seen. Nice and quiet cabin.
