Embarkation and disembarkation was easy. Used a hotel with stay and go for the shuttle. The main stage entertainment was probably the best of any cruise I have been on. The ship's orchestra and dancers were professional. The food and service in the main dining room was excellent. The stateroom steward was very good.
The food in the Windjammer (buffet rest.) was terrible. There, the fish was dry, tough, and too salty. The Cuban, bourbon, jerk, bbq, terioki, and baked chicken were ruined by the extreme use of some spice or herb. Even the hamburger meat was below the grade of McDonald's. One day they grilled the hamburger and called it Barbeque! There is no ice cream machine in the Windjammer. The french fries and watermelon were good as was the breakfast which was OK. My wife asked me, "How can you mess up carrots." They did.
The 4500 passengers had a difficult time finding a place to dine and had to be reminded to leave when finished so others could eat. Paying at Johnny Rockets was a good option. The gym was large and varied. However, the only water I saw (and also was told at the desk) was the bottled water in pay machines. A gym with no water? Also, on the whole boat there were no beverage stations except in the windjammer. (except the bars)
More square feet than Carnival's. Clean.
Easy embark and debark. Customs quick through.
Took taxi tour from non-cruise personnel.
Took non-cruise affiliated taxi to Dawn Island. Driver gave narrative of what we passed. Busby's at Dawn Island has the food and drink. Chairs and umbrellas can be rented. Beautiful beach away from cruise horde. Snorkeling was pretty good. Waves and current made it a little challenging. But fish and coral was there. Be cautious if snorkeling though. Swimming is safe by beach but out 100 yards it gets a little tricky.
