My husband and I have always enjoyed cruising and just being on the boat but NCL Getaway was the worst boat we have ever been on.
The Getaway is one of NCL's mega ships and it is ALL about money. The crew is constantly trying to sell you something and up selling you.
The entertainment on the Getaway has a lot to be desired. The free music they offer is not really that good and it is LOUD. When you go to sit by the pool to relax you can't talk you have to yell at each other, and as I said crummy music. Bar 21 had entertainment that you could seat and listen to if you could find a seat and that was a problem thought the boat, if something was good or interesting you could not find a seat. They want you to pay extra for the decent entertainment that had been free in the past.

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom
Do yourself a favor and do not get a room on the 8th floor. The Getaway is built and designed so poorly that the rooms on the 8th floor are so noisy that you can't get any sleep until the entrainment in the Getaway theater is over, after midnight, because the noise comes up though the floor. I was also told by another passenger that they could hear the engines and toilets being flushed all night and they also were on the 8th floor.
