After cruising about 6 cruises with Carnival, we decided to try NCL. First of all, let me say how CLEAN this ship is, they strive to keep it that way by encouraging everyone to wash their hands before eating and they remind you on your freestyle daily to wash your hands after restroom visits to keep germs and norovirus away and they also give you hand sanitizer upon getting back on the ship from ports of call too. They are constantly cleaning something and it's so nice compared to Carnival, I feel as though their ships have went down-hill.
I decided to read reviews after booking and was almost regretting it because of some of the reviews I read, but I am so glad I didn't let them stop me from going. The ship was absolutely amazing, it definitely didn't feel as though there were 4,000+ people on-board. There is only one main pool and it is crowded with many, many children. I did read several reviews that said it was impossible to find a lounge chair, but we didn't have any problem because there are 3 sun decks plus the spice h20 area for adults only.. that has an amazing cave waterfall to cool you off. There are water mist walk-ins on the ship as well so we sat next to one of those. I read that the Vibe club pass was the way to go because it's an adult-only area with a pool and a bar-tender just for that area, but of course passes were sold out and we went straight to guest services to purchase one but there's only about 80 available to begin with.
Our cabin was amazing, we had a balcony and it was so worth the extra money, we stayed on deck 14. The bed wasn't so comfortable but it was good enough. The bathroom was spacious enough and the shower had enough room to serve it's purpose. Our steward was very good and attended to any needs we had.
The cabin was great, the bed was not that great but it was okay.
