I and my wife have been on numerous cruises. My Brother in law and Sister in law came with us on a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise on the Glory on April 9th to the 16 2016. I picked the Glory because it said it had been refurbished and had things I like on a cruise ship. Well, on getting to my and my guests Balcony cabins, I observed a lot of rust on the balcony and it was not very clean. The room was ok and the cabin steward was great. Now for the bad parts.

On our first day in the dining room you could see food portions had changed and the menus choices were not what the used to be. The wait staff was ok but you could see it was not like it used to be. Now for the second day, my Wife and I returned to our cabin to a call from my relatives about 11:30 PM stating they had a problem in their shower. It was raw sewage coming up from the drain. They informed me they had been calling Guest Services and no one was answering the phone. I said I would also call. I then went into my bathroom area to my surprise I had the same problem coming from my drain. We continued to call for over an hour when finally someone answered. A plumber responded and had to clean out the major drain pipe to clear the clog. It was disgusting to say the least. This was not cleared up until past 1:30 AM..Then we had to wait for someone from housekeeping to came and clean the mess up. The next day Carnival sent a bottle of wine and 6 chocolate strawberries to my cabin and nothing to my in laws room To further my dilemma my wife just had foot surgery had stepped in that shower before us leaving for the night. I'm just glad nothing happen to her foot because of it. My sister in law and my wife were very upset in the way this incident was handled by the staff on the Carnival Glory this upset both of them so you can image what kind of cruise they had for the rest of the week.

I must say this has changed my opinion on Carnival. They have seemed to have turned into a low budget cruise line, you can tell by things they no longer do, like chocolates on your pillows at night when you return for the evening, having to call room service for ice and I understand they have removed refrigerators from other ships. I had spoke to other passengers and they said the same thing. I will not be using carnival in the near future and if you sail on them you will see why I am writing my very first review on this site.
