DH and I took this cruise to celebrate his semi-retirement. We drove down on Thursday and stayed at LaQuinta in Slidell then got up Friday morning to head to the port.
EMBARKATION: it went fairly smoothly. Wasn't impressed with the staggered check-in service because apparently the workers weren't really paying attention to that. We were on the ship by 12:30. We went to Lido deck for some lunch...was able to get in our cabin by 1:30.
CABIN: We originally had an ocean view cabin, but about 3 wks prior to th cruise, we decided to change to balcony. So glad we did! It was nice to be able to sit on our balcony (except when our neighbors were smoking....which is a big no-no!!).
