We enjoyed five days in Miami enjoying some much wanted winter warmth before boarding the ship. We stayed at the Intercontinental Miami which is very convenient to the port but perhaps a little impersonal. Maybe next time we will stay in a slightly smaller hotel.
Embarkation was a breeze and very quickly we were onboard and enjoying the reimagined Azamara Journey. The changes to the ship are really good, the whole décor is lighter and there are two great additions, the Patio, which serves a dining menu outside between 6.30 and 8.30 each night and The Living Room (the old Looking Glass Lounge) which is now busy all day. The Living Room serves lovely Tapas free of charge each evening and is a delightful place for pre dinner drinks.
We were excited to discover our refurbished suite on Deck 8 (we've been with Azamara several times) and to find it had a lovely walk in shower and lots of great storage in the room. Our room team kept the room so clean, always nipping in when we were out, like magic elves!.
Just love the refurbished cabins, so many nice touches
A good oversight of the island
Just wander around window shopping hear - you are only going to be able to look not buy but its an education!!
The hop on hop off bus is a good product
The local taxis offer a very good round the island tour which is good value
The free of charge cruise line shuttle dropped us in an ideal spot for exploring old Palma on foot.
