Sunsets at sea- perfection!

We returned recently from The Ruby Princess 10 day Mexican Riviera cruise. It was our 2nd Princess cruise, the 1st on The Ruby (1st was on The Crown). We are seasoned cruisers since 1989, Diamond level on Carnival, having done Baja many times. We had a marvelous cruise...we found The Ruby and her crew excellent, happy and fun! We had enjoyed The Crown previously, but the crew was not a "smiley" happy bunch, didn't mingle with the passengers much...had a very good cruise...but not as great as on The Ruby.

Horizon Court was excellent, set tables with great views inside and out, superb food choices and lots of servers to keep your glasses full and tables clean, ready for the next diners. The entertainment crew were fabulous. The party band "Nexus" was great, there was lots of dancing every time they played. Parties on deck and in lounges were lots of fun, the entertainment crew was great at keeping the party fun, they mingled well with the guests, had great senses of humor and could dance! Shows were good, especially "Magic to Do" using the music of composer Steven Schwartz and magic- really different and wonderfully entertaining...Karaoke had the best sound system at sea so far, though their song choices were lacking many of the singers' choices, all scrambling to find a song to sing. The Voice at Sea was fun- not sure the methods found the best voice on ship, but very entertaining, especially with The Captain taking one of "the revolving red chairs"!

The ports were terrific, we are from San Diego, so didn't venture far, but many of the guests did lots of fun things in port ie: Old Town, Zoo, Little Italy, Coronado, Seaport Village, Gaslamp, Safari Park, Legoland, Sea World, bay cruises- a great port! We went so we could visit La Paz (a rare treat) and Loreto which we had never been t0 yet. Neither disappointed! Visited the beautiful Balandra Beach in La Paz, others swam with whale sharks or visited the lovely town with it's beautiful Malecon. In Loreto, we boated over to Coronado Island to snorkel. It was paradise! Then we ventured into town and enjoyed the history and ambience of Loreto, very quaint and hospitable, lovely place to visit on a beautiful waterfront.
