Once again NCL continues to impress us. This is our second time on the Getaway and once again we thoroughly enjoyed it. The first time was during its inaugural season 18 months ago and was about the ship. This time it was all about the destinations. We've wanted to hit Jamaica, the Grand Caymans, and Cozumel and we were able to do it aboard this one again. And the destinations did not disappoint. The familiarity of the ship also made it nice so we knew exactly where we were going.

We arrived at the port just a few minutes before our scheduled check-in time (10:00 am) but we were still able to get fit through without any delays. Although this did allow for about a 2 hour wait upstairs before we were able to board but it wasn't bad as we had stuff to entertain ourselves with. Once onboard we were able to make our way down to the Savor dining room as one of the first in line for that and enjoy a great lunch.

After getting ourselves reacquainted with the ship again, our cabins were ready right around 1:30 and we were able to make our way to them and drop off our carry-ons and get a few things squared away. We decided to just go with a regular balcony this time compared to the mini-suite we tried the last time. There's not much of a difference in the two with the exception of the bigger bathroom. Otherwise we didn't miss much in the room.

Not much different than the mini-suites with the exception of the bathroom.

Port Reviews

Miami

Arrived two days before the cruise and drove down to Key West for a day. Great experience to just see the Keys.

Cozumel

Very pushy through all the stores. Even the restaurants seemed a little over baring to get you to try stuff that you're not interested in. Would go back though.
