We chose this cruise on itinerary and dates. However will never sail with MSC again because there is so much missing compared to other cruise lines. We had bought the drinks package thankfully because you couldn't even have a glass of water with dinner without paying. Nor was coffee served in the dining room after dinner. Nor was there a water fountain in the gym! The ship itself is lovely, clean and quite comfortable. Our balcony cabin was spacious clean and bathroom fine. However staff left a lot to be desired. What happened to staff giving way to customers on corridors etc. Officers never spoke to you in passing. There was no port information provided. There was no news sheet each day.

The entertainment was awful. Apart from the two sets of gymnasts who were very good (but bit repetitive) the other shows were boring. Daytime entertainment seemed to consist of the entertainment team entertaining themselves and maybe 1% of the customers. Food was never hot and meat dishes tended to be very chewy. I ended up eating the veggie option most nights.

We did two excursions with MSC to Petra and on the final day an excursion/transfer at Venice but the 30minute gondola trip was only 20 mins and the collection or luggage/transfer was chaotic and disorganised. We have sailed with Costa and NCL and would look at them in future if we want a reasonably priced cruise. Our first choice is Azamara which seems more expensive but when you compare what you get for the extra cost, it's well worth the extra because there are no expensive drinks packages to pay for as these and tips are included with Azamara and their customer service is so superior to MSC.
