We chose this cruise to try the new Anthem of the Seas ship and to visit these particular ports of call. Overall we had a wonderful time. The ship is beautiful and decorated with a fun, contemporary flair. From the dining options, decoration and entertainment everything is upbeat and with a funky twist. Due to bad weather we missed our chance to try the new iFly but we did try just about everything else and had lots of fun.

We had issue with our one excursion in St. Maarten on the catamaran. They have way too many people being dumped into the same spot to snorkel where the helicopter is and we could not move with out being hit int he head or kicked. It was awful. The Mirabella itself was very nice and ht staff was great, but taking so many to the same spot where other boats full of people are is not right. We moved on to Simpson Bay and had to swim to the beach and then sit in the sand which was not the greatest experience either. Our other excursions and the rest of our trip was very nice.

The new dining options with Dynamic Dining was a good experience for us. I would suggest making our reservations early and if you find yourself needing to change them you can always try to go to the particular place and see if you can get in at a different time. There were two of us and it was always easy to get in early when we needed to.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Our cabin was very large with a nice square balcony. Although the balcony is smaller than we have had on other ships and we actually did not use it as much as we have on other ships it is nice. It overlooked the lifeboats attached to the side of the ship below us so we were looking down on those and not the water but we did look out at the water so it was fine. The location was great because we were only a few short steps from the elevators and we did not experience any elevator noise. Our neighbor's did decide to allow their door to slam early in the mornings which was not very nice, however. It was odd to hear the neighbor's toilet flush, too. The desk/vanity table pulls out now so it is a wonderful feature which allows you to use this to eat breakfast or a late night snack while sitting on the sofa along with the chair pulled up to the other side. It can also be taken out to the balcony although we never bothered to do this. There is a lot of storage space which is such an added bonus. It was so nice to have everything stored away and out of our way this time. The large flatscreen tv was on the wall at the foot of our bed.

Port Reviews

St. Thomas

It rained our day here so we shopped. We planned to go to Magen's Bay but didn't. Taxi's and shuttles are plentiful right at the port.
