We took two of our grandchildren (ages 9 and 11) and mom on a four day, three night cruise to Nassau and Castaway Cay. We didn't use any of the Disney child care as the trip was so short and we had plans off ship. The kids had a ball. We find Disney to be an expensive cruise but they do things first class. Our granddaughter meet all the princesses and our grandson loved the pirate night. They enjoyed the shows (we thought they were a bit loud) and the dancers/singers were excellent. They spent most of their time on the ship in the pools and slides. Disney has lifeguards on duty which made our oversight a bit easier.

The three restaurant dinning process was very nice and the food as good as our cruises on Holland America. My wife loved the shrimp and crab at lunch each day. The service was excellent with the servers taking extra time to entertain the children during and after the meals. Dress is casual for the entire cruise. I like to the gym and there was no charge for the standard classes.

In Nassau we went to the Blue Lagoon for an encounter with Sea Lions. We had been there a bout three years ago and there have been some changes. But it is well worth the time and cost. The cruise ships had booked the entire day so we couldn't get a private reservation so we took the Disney excursion. The day at Castaway Cay was great for us. Mom and the kids went ashore as did most of the passengers. We had a nice quite day relaxing on board. If you want to do the water slides this is the time. We were very impressed with embarking and disembarking. It all went very quickly and smoothly. All in all a very enjoyable trip.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah

Cabin 05A

An excellent cabin with split bathroom, shower and sink; and toilet and sink. Everything worked and was well maintained. We could do all the needed booking and folio checking on the TV. Bed was comfortable, I liked the pillows. Room had two 110 plugs.

Port Reviews

Port Canaveral (Orlando)

This is the easiest port to take a cruise from. All the aspects of parking, boarding, and disembarking are very well managed. There are numerous off port reduced cost parking within 10 minutes of the terminals.

Nassau

Very nice and educational. The sea lions are much more expressive than the Dolphins. Recommended for the whole family.
