We chose this cruise as we needed some sunshine, due to the rotten weather in UK and we knew there was a good chance of some down on the Canary Islands.
Chose Thomsons as we had sailed with them before an had a great time, so assumed this would be the same again. How wrong we were!!
The actual cruise was good. Food OK although sometimes a bit bland. Entertainment was very good and he entertainment team worked hard to provide a decent show. Their two best being 'killler queen' and 'west end wonders' - with Les Miserables being excellent.
Avoid this cabin!!
Among the problems.......:Hole in duvet cover, Damage to bedside drawers
Bathroom disgusting.............. Loo seat painted with ordinary household paint!
Loo seat hinges broken, continual dripping of water from cistern into bow, meaning we had to keep flushing to avoid it overflowing, chips in was basin (attempt at repairs with discoloured enamel), tap temperature indicator insert missing, shower area tiles discoloured and grouting/silicon black in areas, missing in others. Shower curtain grubby and finally.....the pull out washing line in the shower was thick with MOULD.
When reported to reception we were told we were sailing to capacity so no spares and the (so called) receptionist that he would get the ship's CARPENTER to have a look!! Advised him the bathroom needed stripping and re-tiling etc which was not a small job and not possible which we were occupying it but was assured I would be 'amazed at what our carpenters can do'. Needless to say, no one - carpenter or otherwise - arrived and we heard NOTHING more. We couldn't be bothered to chase as the staff attitude showed nothing would be done, so we just enjoyed the cruise as best we could, having very careful showers with as little contact with surfaces as possible. We have complained to Thomsons as soon as we retuend so await their comments...
