This was our 19th cruise on about 8 different lines. We generally take transatlantic crossings as a way to get to or from Europe. Fourth time on Azamara (AZ).
We had a good time, highly enhanced by a group of extremely friendly passengers. I'm not sure what AZ does to attract such friendly positive people; they are so much more outgoing and welcoming than on many other lines. If you like to socialize and meet new people, you will have unlimited opportunities. No snobs on board.
The embarkation and dis-embarkation were a breeze, as were the processes of getting off and on at all ports. This is a complete pleasure after some nightmares on a couple of other lines. Very well done AZ!
After the dry dock, the Owner's Suite has a cleaner, more modern look. We were very happy with the extra space, and this is what we paid for. But the functionality needs work. Worst feature is the new shower, which looks great, but someone forgot to build a sloping shower pan, so the water sloshes out all over the bathroom each time you shower, forcing you to be on your knees mopping up. Not my idea of luxury cruising. No lamps in the living area, so it's very dark and hard to read there. Most OS lack a light over the make-up mirror; I guess a man designed that area.
Beautiful town.
