It was a last minute decision to sail on Legend of the Seas. Friends of our were already booked and asked us if we'd be interested in going. That was in February, not quite 2 months out from the sail date.
So, we scoured what few cabins were left and settled on an outside cabin (I refuse to travel with an inside cabin any more). It was 2602. When we booked it, on RCI's website when we checked it appeared to be amidships. However, that deck plan was wrong. It's the last cabin on the starboard side. Right behind it is a large cargo bay door. Its window is a porthole.
Had we known how noisy that it would be, that it's subjected to the mechanical vibrations from the engines and other auxilary plant, maybe we'd have settled for a quiet inside cabin. Or maybe not.
Noisy, no bar fridge, small compared to balcony suite despite it being described as "large exterior".
Tendered ashore and lazed on the beach. Very nice way to relax.
Bus tour around Noumea. Interesting way to quickly see the place. Being a weekend nothing was open except for a few shops selling souvenirs.
Lots of facilities here. Melbourne could look at how Brisbane and Sydney handle cruise ships.
