This was the tale of two cruises. The good days were really good and the bad days were really bad. I have been so excited for this cruise but unfortunately we had a norovirus outbreak and I got it the second day of the cruise. Upon boarding I completely sanitized my cabin with Lysol wipes and spray, but to no avail. I was quarantined in my cabin for two days, which was not necessary as there was no way I could have left the cabin had I wanted. The first day I threw up 26 times!!! I reported my case to the medical center at noon, but did not get a call back until 6:00 pm, with the nurse chastising me for reporting so late. Once I corrected her she backed down, but then referred to me as "you Americans". Once i was released from my cabin and could get around, day 3, I went to the pursers desk to inquire about some sort of refund or credit. I was given a card to call Corporate when I returned. I called and reported it and spoke with Iris, who would not give me a last name and told me that Princess would do nothing for me. When I asked for her supervisor she told me that she was the top, so I guess she does not have a boss, must be nice....And once I started feeling better we had 18' swells the last two days.

The good - embarkation in Los Angeles was a breeze, as I am Elite we had priority boarding and walked right on the ship. We had mini-suite E730 which was wonderful, extend wrap around balcony. The cruise director, Adam Love, did an excellent job. He was funny, entertaining and very present at activities, etc. The entertainment was good as well, I especially liked Steve Moris (former Beach Boy) and comedian Oscar Carlos, very funny, but not dirty. I also enjoyed the art on this ship. I like the International Cafe but there were so many activities there I could not find a table to eat, and it was so noisy. That was a disappointment.

Another disappointment was the food. I don't understand as how all of the menus are the same on the Princess fleet, how the food varies from ship to ship. The food was not good, even the pasta, which was surprising. This includes the buffet, the main dining room and even specialty dining, very disappointing.

Although still not feeling well I did enjoy seeing nicer areas of Mazatlan.

Walked around the marina and ate at John's Place, was very good.
