The hardest part of our entire trip was the US to Europe flight and extremely long layover. But once the Viking staff member met us upon arrival, everything from that point on went as smoothly as we ever could have imagined. The ship's Captain, Director and staff were outstanding. They promptly and cheerfully responded to our every question or request for assistance. The food was superb, and every meal was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Our stateroom was quite roomy and well appointed and the views from our balcony were breathtaking. The onboard features including the ship's tour, the cookie making demonstration, the glass blowing exhibit, and the classical music concert were delightful. Though the evening entertainment was limited to a piano bar, the pianist was talented and quite entertaining. The Excursions and local guides were excellent. We had lots of choices and ample free time in virtually every port. And upon arrival back at the ship, we were greeted with either a cocktail, an amuse bouche, or a sweet treat. The welcome reception, Captain's Reception, and farewell reception were perfect opportunities to meet new friends or reconnect with friends from previous Viking cruises. We plan to keep in touch with a number of the new friends we made on this cruise. It is no exaggeration to say that every detail of the cruise from beginning to end was perfectly planned and flawlessly executed. We were so impressed, we have already scheduled our next cruise.
Our cabin was spacious, well-appointed and meticulously cared for by the housekeeping staff.
