Cabin: Royal Suite

We chose this cruise for the itinerary: it was a repositioning cruise taking the Millennium from the Asian Market to Alaska, with our portion being from Sydney to Honolulu with stops in Fiji and French Polynesia. We booked a Royal Suite and purchased the 1-2-3 GO! package so we ended up with pre-paid gratuities, unlimited internet, premium beverage package and unlimited specialty restaurant dining. The cruise is the longest in Celebrity's rotation at 18 days.

This review is going to be less about the Millennium (which will be undergoing a significant refit, not a small one as suggested by the previous review) and more about Celebrity Cruises and how the brand is changing and what it means for loyal Celebrity cruisers.

The "Suite Experience", introduced a few years ago under the Modern Luxury banner, was designed to provide guests who book a Suite or higher a better on-board experience including the use of Luminae (restaurant for Suite guests only), Michael's Club (with a dedicated MC Concierge and complimentary beverages), priority embarkation, disembarkation and tender service, and more. For the most part it's a good program and adds some value, but could be expanded (see suggestions below).

The Royal Suites are all undergoing a major refurbishment at an upcoming dry dock in Vancouver, so our experience won't be applicable in a few weeks.
