I loved this cruise! Amsterdam to Budapest. The staff was exceptional. It comes from the top down. Each person was genuine, polite and professional. The ship is spotlessly clean. The food overall was delicious. I didn't care for most of the fish dishes when they were featured on the evening menu. But there is always something to appeal to your appetite. If you can't find something, you are too picky and shouldn't be traveling. Many days featured the local cuisine, beer and wine. It was a great opportunity to try local cuisine. During dinner, the included wine and beer flowed generously.
The daily routine is breakfast, touring, back to the ship for lunch, relaxing or perhaps an additional tour or shopping in the town. Snacks at 4pm, happy hour, port talk and then 7 pm dinner. Some evenings local tradional entertainment is brought on board. Piano music is otherwise available and people are in bed by 10-10:30pm. The average age is retired. A few under 30 were traveling with family. Being on the ship 15 days you get to know many people from around the globe. Dining is always open seating, you may sit anywhere anytime.
We did the Panorama Bistro 2 nights and each night was delicious. In the bistro you receive several small bites of many options. You'll never go hungry.
Would definitely recommend front of ship to avoid diesel fuel smell when going through the locks.
Expensive and more crowded than last visit in 1999
Took the city tour and learned of the very old history of the city. Saw the castle and ate the most delicious sausages.
Delicious sausage and beer. Nice town to shop in.
Lovely cathedral
Nice history
Private van tour of sites and then beautiful night light. Wonderful city. Much to see wish I would have toured the Terror museum ( holocast )
Over view of the city
