Riviera is a perfect size ship being very easy to get around. Amazingly for it's relatively small size, it boasts a total of 14 musicians (excellent), 11 singers/dancers (all exceptional), and very entertaining shows. The 9:45 show time is perfect to have a pleasant dinner beforehand and not have to rush to see the show.
We found the room, a standard balcony, a bit on the smallish side compared to our last cruise on Windstar´s Star Pride. They could have left out the bath tub, made the bathroom a bit smaller & gained room in the stateroom itself. However, it was really the width of the room that we found a bit restricting.
We were on deck 7 which is just above the lifeboats. It is close enough to the waterline that if the sea is even a bit high, you can't go out on the balcony as you will be hit with spray. Having said that, we used the balcony often, particularly for a bit of reading after being in port for the day
It was easy to book a van at all of the ports on this cruise just as you got off the ship.
We did, however, sign up for the ship recommended "hop on/off" Miami bus & transfer to the airport at the end of the cruise. This is a MUST if you have a late flight. A bus picks you up at the pier. Your luggage goes into a truck & you don't see it again until you are ready to go to the airport at a pre-assigned time. Meanwhile, you can take any or all of the 3 on/off trips offered. The cost is $69 a person & is an excellent service.
Cheers, also, for Oceania for mentioning in their daily paper what you can do on your own in each port. Most ship lines keep that type of information a secret, putting the fear into you so you will take their expensive tours!
