This is our 15th cruise and for a change this winter decided on two short vacations rather than one longer two week holiday and a 5 day getaway on Independence of the Seas to Belize and Cozumel fit the bill perfectly. We'll probably do the same again next winter.
Overall, the ship and crew are excellent. Dining is very pleasant both in the MDR and up at the Windjammer buffet. The price of the cruise was very reasonable - especially for us poor suffering Canadians with the low loonie dollar currently at about .70 cents CDN to the US $1.00 dollar.
We love to dance in the evenings and here the ship gets a failing grade. The lounge floors were too small and very sticky and the one larger dance floor lounge - the Anthony & Cleopatra where our Muster Location was located - was either "Reserved for Private Function" or being used for games the entire trip. Fortunately we were saved by the lovely Aquamarine Duo who played many Argentine Tango pieces for us up in the Olive or Twist lounge on Deck 14. We were the only dancers there!
Boat to Starfish Island
Taxi to Paradise Beach where they charge $3 entry p/p and expect you to spend $10 on food and drinks. Lovely loungers under the palm trees, but the water was cluttered with infantile jumping bags and water sport trampolines with few fish to be seen.
Hollywood Beach and the boardwalk make for a perfect day at the beach.
