I took my daughter and two granddaughters (ages 7 & 10) for an 8 day cruise on the Sunshine in March. We're frequent cruisers but it was our first time on this ship. The layout is similar to other Carnival ships. Our cabin was on deck 3 just a few doors down from the service desk. This proved to be a great location - very convenient to everywhere we wanted to go on the ship. I loved the deck right outside and our 4J cabin had a very nice picture window. Even though there were activities in the Atrium in the evening, the noise in our cabin was minimal and silent after 10:30pm.
We found the service to be very good. Our room steward did a good job and our dining room team was excellent. We all enjoyed the food everywhere on the ship. The grandkids ordered from the adult menu every night for dinner. They also enjoyed the activities provided by Camp Carnival - even being in different age groups did not bother them in the least.
The entertainment staff was full of energy and did a great job getting everyone to participate. The singers and dancers were very professional. We enjoyed the shows.
