Hey guys, Just got home from a 7 day Bahama's cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway out of New York and thought I would give a review. We visited Cape Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay, and Nassau. Boarding in New York took about an hour and a half. We arrived at noon and made it on the ship just in time to grab lunch at the Garden Cafe before they shut it down for the muster drill. Took about 90 minutes start to finish. The food was good. After that we went to the front of the ship to take in the views of the New York skyline as we sailed away. We booked this cruise last minute. Three days before. We got an inside guarantee for $449. We didn't get upgraded as the cruise was sold out. There were over 900 kids on board. It was spring break in Northern Jersey and Connecticut. Ship seemed very loud. Don't know if it was due to all the kids or if that's just how the ship is.

Our room was a little smaller than I would have liked. Really wasn't anywhere to unpack our clothes so we had to pick out of our suit cases all week. No big deal. Shower was rather roomy in my opinion. And our room steward always kept our room clean and organized for us. On the first day we booked most of our entertainment since we couldn't do it beforehand since we booked so late. We got to see everything we wanted for the most part. But spots do fill up fast. So book as soon as you can. The shows were very good. We saw Burn the Floor, Rock of Ages, The Second City ( Twice), and Howl at the Moon Dueling Pianos. I Found the ship to be very beautiful and clean. My only issues were they didn't enforce adults only at the main pool at all. It was almost impossible to get into the pool and hot tubs without being splashed or kicked by kids. Water slides were awesome but would recommend wearing a shirt going down them. Spice H2O was nice but would have been perfect had it had a pool in it. While the ship is large I feel that they sacrificed entertaining spaces to push the specialty restaurants. Anything popular held in the atrium often had standing room only . The comedy club also is awkwardly set up . If you don't arrive early chances are you will have a bad seat. It's just dinning chairs set up in rows. Uncomfortable. We didn't try any of the specialty restaurants. We mostly at in the Manhattan Club. The food was very good in my opinion but selections were limited. I'm guessing they do this to push people to try the specialty places. No lobster night. The noodle bar was very good. Didn't realize it was complimentary until the second to last day. O'Sheehan's was a great place to stop in for breakfast or a quick snack. Wings were very good. They offer dinner specials on sea days. And don't miss out on the Uptown Grill. Great place to get a burger and a salad.

In Florida we went to Coco Beach. Not really much do down there. It was OK. Nothing special to write home about. Great Stirrup Cay was beautiful. As we were pulling up to the Island we saw RCI Granduer and Majesty anchored at Coco Cay. They had a buffet on the island that was very good. Beach is kind of on the rocky side in the water. Make sure you book a tender ticket asap . You can do it before you sail or as soon as you get on the ship. We arrived to the island on time. We had tender D and didn't make it to the island until almost noon. Two hours after arriving. We arrived in Nassau and hour early but they didn't let us off early. Carnival Magic followed us into port. We got off and decided to take a tour that was offered by a local company. For 25 bucks a person we got a 2 and a half hour tour that took us all over the island. We stopped at Atlantis for about 20 minutes, the beach, and we went to the highest point on the island and shopped the straw market that was there. We had lunch at the bearded clam. That was very good as well. After that we just walked around. Getting off of the ship was a lot easier than getting on it. We carried our own luggage off and going through customs was pretty quick too. Overall I had a great time and would go again.
