Getting on in Florida was easy...a little slow getting off in San Diego, but I think it was due to something beyond their scope, having to do with some non-US Citizens an their passports. I'd seen some negative reviews, and they really didn't seem merited. There was a TV issue (maybe shipwreck, but it was fixed the day after I reported it. The fore, starboard side up button elevator didn't work, which never got fix (reported as well). Um, that was the worst thing!

Food was good, Q-sine was fun and plentiful. We were the minority--not retired, had kids--And we managed to have a great time. My son was no angel during this trip, but they handled him like a champ. Super service in Kids’ Club! Food at all times was high-quality, but funny Mexican food in the buffet, etc. Just refried beans should be a staple…Lots of great fruit, fresh salad, loved the omelette bars, wife loved the eggs benedict station, and what about the grilled panini? So nice. Sushi was fine, presented well, soups should have been more varied (I remember split pea, chicken consommé and an Asian broth that was just okay, but never unsavory. Room service for breakfast was GREAT and they even honored if you wrote in extra things (that weren’t out there) like “omelette with cheese” (only plain omelettes are offered to the non-fancy passengers). They also did French toast, etc. Room service at breakfast was PROMPT!! Super friendly in that regard. Never ate at the restaurant for breakfast or lunch, always did room-service/buffet instead.

Room was always made up (no towel animals for the kids, boo-hoo), beds were joined, and stuff was clean. Did they save the waves? I think they changed out every towel, even once-used. Oh well. Dinner was enjoyable, Alex has some great guys working for him. Amar also was a memorable wine steward, just wanted us happy. Great recommendations, and remember: “It’s all covered in the package!” I just recommend upgrading to the Premium Package. Basically no stress as a result. Martini pourers were superb. EVERY single employee was friendlier than any cruise I’ve ever been on. Everyone was happy to see me, everyone seemed to want to know how to serve me (Café al Bacio, love you!) but they were never pushy or annoying, just attentive. I felt treated like a King. Even water available for purchase (or included in package) on your way out to ports of call. And nice, cold towels when you return from a hot day. Tour was great: P. Vallarta, did dolphin encounter with my son. Worth it! Wife paid less, sat in bleachers, and took pictures.

Port Reviews

Puerto Vallarta

Good but I'd like to swim without vests! Pix are expensive. Pay extra to have someone observe, with decent phone pix/video from that area should suffice.

Puerto Quetzal (Antigua)

Self-guided tour included some interesting history on way there and pack. Safe, comfortable bus ride guaranteed on time for about 45 bucks. Do it!

Puntarenas (Puerto Caldera)

Beautiful city, a bit hot.

Cabo San Lucas

Pretty, but my credit card info/strip was copied and I got some changes after returning. Have ni idea where this happened.

Colon (Cristobal)

Take a tour of the esclusas, but don't visit Colon city. You've been warned.

Cartagena (Colombia)

Beautiful, but hot.
