My wife and I have taken numerous cruises on Norwegian and have enjoyed them all, until now. She had wanted to cruise the Epic since it went into service so when it started service in the Mediterranean we decided to go for it. WOW were we surprised. This is the worst ship we have ever been on. It has no personality or character. The outdoor space is limited basically to one deck (15) and for a ship that can have 4000+ passengers the pool space is mostly set up for kids and would only accommodate a couple hundred ( mostly slides). Unless you were going to pay unreasonable fees the activities were mundane and it seemed like they were focused on funneling the adults into the casino which consumed the entire main floor of the ship.

Although the food was plentiful the menus were pedestrian and lacked creativity. In over 15 years of cruising this was the first 7+ day cruise where they didn't offer lobster unless you wanted to pay extra (equivalent pricing to a restaurant).

Unlike our last Mediterranean cruise currency exchange could only be done on a very limited basis by paying 6% fee and trading Euros even money for the American $.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Balcony

Cabin B1

The cabin was nice enough although the glass shower and commode would be a problem for people traveling as friends. Because of trying to create atmosphere the bed was curved causing it to be way to short. I'm 6'2" and if I laid normally on the bed my legs hung over from shin down.
