This was our 3rd Cruise on Carnival and 8th cruise over all. It has been 10 years since the last cruise. I forgot how much we missed it. We had two daughters with us ages 15 and 17.

I will start by saying I was a little leery about going on Carnival because of many things I read about party ship etc. I also remembered the 2 Carnival cruises and they seemed a little more wild then the other cruise lines we have been on. This was a much bigger ship then the other Carnival cruises we sailed. I am glad that I read several reviews before going that eased me about the that worry(the partiers) with lots of family reviews. I was totally happy to see when boarding lots of families at the port during embarkation. On the ship we saw so many families with kids and not the party seen like I was thinking we might run into.

Main port was in Galveston. We didn't care for Galveston that much seemed dirty in the old part of town, the pleasure pier cost money just to go out on it. Also as you leave Galveston the water is so brown they say it is from all the run off from the Mississippi. Didn't look healthy.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin was clean and neat no weird smells or anything. Bathroom bigger then normal. Balcony was nice and love the fresh air. Cabin Steward was wonderful. His Service is what bumped the service rating up.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Didn't like Galveston it seemed dirty and everything was overpriced. Leaving from this port the water is not caribbean water. It is dirty and muddy looking.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We went with Islandlife. They were professional and helpful. wonderful day with the sting rays.

Cozumel

Saw the town. It seemed like the old part of town was better for shopping. Got better deals then the area by the ship. The area which was right by the ship prices seemed high. Most the souvenirs I looked at can be bought in the states for cheaper.

Montego Bay

We went on a zipline excursion. Several other families from the cruise were there. We felt safe. It seemed like safety was a tip priority. Wonderful views.
