This was our first cruise with Celebrity, having travelled with Princess on other occasions. My first impression was not WOW as I expected. I was very impressed with the Stateroom, plenty of storage spaces. Loved the shower cubicle with it's sliding doors. The balcony in room 9211 was roomy and being in the area that bulged out there were very good views.

Another area which surpassed Princess was the theatre. The viewing was excellent from almost all seats, with the exception of a few posts. On this note the shows were first class on every night.

For me the Solstice lacked atmosphere. The lounges and bars did not have the intimate feel of the Princess, and the main restaurant felt very uninspiring. We had any time dining, And the area overlooked the set dining restaurant and I preferred this outlook but the same table cannot be guaranteed every night and on one of our nights we were pushed around the corner looking at a blank wall.

Deluxe Veranda 1A

Cabin 1A

Would recommend this cabin. Being on the part that bulges out you get a good view up the side of the ship and are shielded fom the winds. Also it is very near the lifts in the middle of the ship and the Card Room is close by giving you a good marker when going back to your cabin.
