We had a great time. The ship was beautiful and very clean. The food was good, but not great. On our last night we ordered the Seafood meal and were very disappointed to find out it was probably a Costco special, frozen battered cod with frozen battered shrimp and scallops exactly the same you find on the frozen isle at Costco, served with frozen peas and carrots, probably also from Costco. While we found the selection at the buffet good we find it sad that the meals served at dinner on the Carnival Cruises we went were much better.

Service is good but also not the best, some of the staff specially at the shops and bars were slow in service and didn't seem very happy to serve us. What was most disappointing to us was to find the Boomerango water slide still not working. I understand they having problems with a new feature, but the way they handled it was what really bothered me. I wish they had informed us in advance via email, maybe with an apology. It would've been a lot less disappointing to know ahead of time. Instead they chose to ignore the problem. There was no mention of it, no one talks about it, not even on the video they show of all the recent renovations, they talk about everything, but that. It's the White Elephant of the ship, which is ironic because they were starting to stall some foam padding on it which are actually White.

Having said that the staff at the Flowrider were awesome, our boys spent most of their time there and had a blast and the entertainment was the best we have ever seen at sea. The ice skating show and the acrobatic show well exceeded our expectations, Saturday Night Fever was excellent, a true Broadway show at sea.

Surprisingly quiet. The bay window with extra seating made it seem a lot more spacious and gave us extra space to put our bags. Only time we heard any noise was during the 70's disco party which happened one night between 10 and 11 pm (by 11:01pm it was dead silent again) and the Zumba Class which was on the last day from 9 to 10 am. Those two occasions were not a problem for us since we didn't go to sleep before midnight and were always awake by 9, but it is something you need to consider if you plan to be asleep during those hours. We were never in our cabin during the other parades that take place around 5 pm so, I cannot comment on that.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Good port. We stayed at the Harbor House Hotel and Marina the night before and walked just one block to the port. Very nice walk-able area with lots of restaurants around. We had a huge line on boarding day, but once we went past security it was all smooth from there. Leaving the ship was quick and easy. We waited on the Star Lounge until our number was called and were outside by the curb in about 30 minutes. Our number was 28 and we were called at 9:45 am. Only negative for me was the high cost of transportation from IAH, we payed $200 each way for a group of 4 plus 20% tip for a private SUV, but shared rides were not available at the time we arrived.

Falmouth

Did not show up to pick us up at the port! After one hour of confusion they sent us on another zipline tour run by Chukka Tours. Their ziplines were very short and they only had four lines, not what we signed up for. I'm currently waiting for a refund.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Royal Palms Beach Club was very crowded and noisy. We ended up walking along the beach to the public beach area which was a lot more quite and peaceful. They had bathrooms, outdoor shower to wash off the sand and a big pavilion with tables. Next time we'll just go straight there.
