Sail Date: Mar 2016

This was our 7th cruise. We have sailed Disney, Norwegian, Carnival, Celebrity and Holland America. We are new to cruising and want to experience all the major lines before settling on one or two. Friends had encouraged us to try Princess as it was their favorite. We did but will not likely sail with Princess again. We didn't have an awful time but it certainly did not live up to our expectations.

The Royal Princess is beautiful with lots of places to sit and relax. Deluxe Balcony Cabin was adequate but we never did find out what justified the "deluxe" classification. Storage is good but bathroom is terribly inadequate and the balcony is a joke. We ordered the romantic balcony 4-course breakfast but there was no room to serve it. We had to shuttle plates in and out and finally moved indoors.

Entertainment is average but few choices and events often overlap. Theater seats were obviously not sized for American crowds. More like economy class on a cheap airplane. A big deal was made about the expensive on-board TV studio but it is obvious that the audience was not a priority in designing the seating.

Cabin Review

Cabin DE - Deluxe Balcony

Cabin adequate with lots of storage. Comfortable bed but lousy pillows. Bathroom layout is crazy. Ample vanity space but toilet and shower are inadequate. Shallowest balcony we have ever experienced. Could not face the ocean and recline the chairs. Had to sit sideways. Not sure I would use the adjective "deluxe". It was very ordinary when compared to other ships.
