Wow, what a nice vacation!

Sail Date: March 2009
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Embarkation was a little long but not overly so(one hour). It went very smoothly and had drinks in hand by 12:30. Rooms by 1:30, suitcase around 5:30.

Food: Mongolian grill is fabulous but you must go before everyone discovers it. It was a 10 minute wait on day 1 but up to 45 minutes later in the week. Best time to go is at 12 sharp! Grill was good, except for veggie burgers: they fry them in the french fry oil! So much for healthier,LOL. Pizza was good, the deli was fabulous and the cooks friendly. Omelette station was excellent for breakfast. we ate in the dining room every night, our tablemates were really nice people from Texas and Utah. The waist staff was funny and the food out of this world!

Shows: Three different comedians, I liked them all. Beatles show was impressive. Loved the piano bar.the place was packed solid every night!Vince is great and got the crowd really into singing. The swingtime lounge band was good too, we went and danced off some of the More desserts a few times.

Ports of call Cozumel: jeep and caverns tour:awesome. We got to swim in the caverns, the water was a little chilly but crystal clear, there were a couple of bats overhead afterwards we went to the beach for a buffet lunch and a swim. Fabulous tour. Costa Rica: cycling through a caribbean village: really neat, saw some sloths and a huge spider!Got to swim and have a snack ( really fresh fruit). bike ride was easy, only a mile and a half each way.

Panama: Geriatric tour! Ugh! The tour itself was nice, saw the locks, had a good lunch in Panama city (salad, chicken and rice, all cold but that's the way they served it - some complained LOL, they only offered free coke to drink but you could get beer, wine etc).We saw the old and new Panama, pretty cool, quite a contrast! I called this the geriatric tour because we had to stop constantly for bathroom breaks. The guide would say, we will stop in twenty minutes but some complained they had to go NOW, of course these are the same people that drank the free bottled water and coffee in large quantities LOL! Any ways still glad I got to see Panama city but will not take a long bus tour again, I'm still too young for that (Yipppee).

An 8 day cruise was fabulous. I'm ready for next year! Less

Cabin review: Carnival Freedom Interior Empress 7416

7416: great location aft, two floors right below adult only pool. Very quiet.
