We took this cruise with my daughter, her family of 4, and my sons 2 boys (both teens). We had the boys in our room. D2-8598. It was cramped, when the sofa was converted to a bed, but still doable. The larger deck made it comfortable for all of us to sit out there at one time. Closet and drawer space was good. Suitcases stored under the bed. Bath was a little larger than other ships I had been on.

We dined in the Grande dining room, on deck 4, every night, except the last night, we ate at the Windjammer Buffet. We usually ate at the buffet for our lunches, when on board. It was laid out nicely. Smaller islands of various food categories, as opposed to long lined serving stations. Four of us have Celiac Disease, so we have to eat gluten free. They actually had a Gluten Free buffet section that was great, even with breads and rolls. Also enjoyed other "free" restaurants. Park Café, in Central Park, Boardwalk Donuts, Johnny Rockets, and Sorrentos Pizza (gluten free pizza). Never had any issues with our food. We also took advantage of the soda package, so each of the kids could fill their glasses with whatever cold beverage they wanted. Most of the time it was just lemonade.

Central Park was such a grand place to be. We were on Deck 8, so it was just a short walk around the corner and we were there. Live plantings, lots of benches to rest and relax with a coffee or whatever. Boardwalk was nice, kids loved the Carousel and other activities. The Promenade was very nice. Again, with places to enjoy a drink and sit and people watch.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Nicely laid out. Little cramped when the sofa was made into a full bed, for our grand sons.

We had the larger deck, so it was easy for all 4 of us to be out there at the same time sitting at a table.

The bathroom was good sized and didn't have any issues with it at all.

Closet space was ample, lots of storage. Suitcases stored under the bed, as usual.

Our room steward was Made, and he was always around and very attentive.

First time I've been on a ship where I was able to find a plug for my CPAP machine. It was just behind the bed, where the phone plugs in. Didn't have to use any extension cord on this one.

Port Reviews

Nassau

We had been to Nassau before. We took our grand kids to the market, just at the port. Really didn't have the time to take them over to Atlantis. Wanted to make sure we were back on board on time. Boys almost had the pool to themselves.

St. Thomas

First time in St. Thomas. Just did the market area and walked around the port. People were nice and considerate.

St. Maarten

Not sure if this is the one in combination with the Airport Tour or not. The grand sons learned to snorkel and we saw quite a few planes come low, over our heads, to land over the beach. Everyone seemed to have a good time, except one grand son got sick on the way back to port. Water was very choppy. Crew was very nice and helpful. Kudos to them.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Our only experience with Pork Everglades was embarking and disembarking. Both, of which, went well. My only issue was there was no "handicapped" lane or desk to do the registration. I have bad legs and had to walk through the weaving lines with others. By the time we were done, I just wanted to sit for awhile to get my energy back. Have been on other cruises where we were sent through a separate line and a quicker check in. Debarkation went fast and smoothly. No rushing crowds getting off the ship. RCCL seems to have this down to a science. Thank you!
