Maybe our expectations were too high-- some friends rave about how great Celebrity is. Maybe it's just the Silhouette. But overall, and trying not to evaluate based only on our tastes, I think Celebrity fell short.
We arrived late for check in on purpose as the lines are usually better and no waiting to board the ship after check-in. Things went smoothly, we were on the ship, and a quick drink later, by 1pm, they allowed us in our rooms. Better than expected. Luggage arrived more quickly than expected too, which is what it takes for me to finally relax on a ship.
Room 7185 was a nice room, about the size of other balcony rooms we've had, but the balcony itself was more roomy and realistic. The reclining chairs were comfortable, but laminated pieces were falling off of the arms making me worried it would snag clothing or scratch me as I sat or got up. Didn't happen, but perhaps because we were careful. There were sharp edges. It seemed rather bad to keep these chairs in distribution.
