I guess I was spoiled by the supreme food and service of a Celebrity Panama Canal cruise. This was my 3rd cruise. They only get an average 3 star rating from me. Food was not that great in dining room or in the buffet. In the dining room the fish was dry and overcooked every night I had it (4X), and had no sauce, spices, or flavor. The baked potatoes were the best part of the meal, but they were tiny and when asked to have the sour cream on the side, they did not want to do so. The other three dishes I tried were just as unmemorable.

Plus the buffet hours are not very good. I like to eat my lunch late. All the different stations close by 3:00 PM, which is about the time I need to eat since my dinner seating was not until 8:15 PM. So that left me with the choice of pizza or pizza.

Went to their afternoon tea, and that was the biggest joke of all. I received less than a quarter of a sandwich with the thinnest slice of cucumber on it, and if it had anything else I could not taste it. Then a tiny piece of french bread with a little salmon, one tiny macaroon, and a decent size portion of some kind of yellow sponge cake that tasted just like a dirty sponge, so I couldn't eat it. Then you had to pay extra for tea. I went only once because it was not worth my time to go back.

Fast Embarkation, but the parking control guy lied to me and told me the garage was full. I found plenty of parking on the top floor.

Cabo San Lucas

The poor horses were hot, tired, probably thirsty, and had lame ankles from their being forced to walk in the thick sand. Two of them would not walk and had two be pulled, then one of the guides (a 13 yr old kid) squished my horse between his and my sister, and my horse bit my sister's leg. These animals are not treated humanely, please don't buy these excursions.

Mazatlan

El Cid talked us into taking a one hour presentation in exchange for a 1 1/2 hr tour of the shopping district. The presentation was actually good, no pressure really to buy, and if you have the money was actually a really good deal. It is something I may look into in the future. The 1 1/2 tour was a joke. Half the time was spent driving to town, and then to the cruise ship. We got to stop at one souvenir shop, then did not even have time for lunch because he said it would take a half hour to drive back to the cruise. He did try to sell us a $25 one hour tour to where the cliff divers were. We did not buy it. Thought there would be some restaurants near the ship and there were not. only one Mexican taco stand that was pricey and did not even look good. So I just went back on the ship to eat.

Heard from others that their bus on the paid tour had to have police escort because it was not safe.
