Experienced cruiser - second time on Princess, first time on the Regal.

Embarkation- Port Everglades is not very convenient - horrible traffic jams on arrival to the port that delayed our arrival. Once we got near the terminal, there was very poor signage to point us where we needed to drop off luggage and park our vehicle. When I stopped to unload our luggage, the attendant did not help - had to pull out and roll to her. Overall, Port Canaveral was a much better port experience compared to Port Everglades.

Deluxe Balcony

Cabin DB

If there was one thing that kept the cruise from being excellent, it was the cabin. The location was excellent - mid ship and very convenient to all locations on the ship. However, the layout of the cabin was atrocious. For a deluxe balcony room, I expected to be able to use my balcony the whole cruise, but not when you have to use the 3rd and 4th beds in the room. The 3rd bed was the pullout sofa that blocked the desk and mirror. The 4th bed from the ceiling was in same direction as balcony door and blocked the balcony door when it was lowered - only way to get to door was to climb over the sofa and watch your head as you squeezed out the door. Very poor layout - was on Disney ship last year and the room was slightly longer to allow the upper berth to be perpendicular to the balcony and a little wider to leave a passage between the sofa pullout and the desk. I would not recommend this layout if you have 4 to the room.

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

Excellent experience - first time on horse but guides were very informative and made sure we knew how to handle our horses. A nice ride in the countryside and then we went on beach and waded into waist deep water - very fun!

St. Thomas

An awesome experience. Operation was top notch - safety was number one concern. Guides were very informative. The views of the island from the zippiness was breathtaking.

Princess Cays

Compared to Disney's Castaway Cay, Princess Cays was disappointing. The island was nice, but the water was not very clear and the beach and water bottom were extremely rocky. My son an I both got cuts from scraping on rocks.

Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

Horrible traffic jams on arrival. Attendants did not offer much help with luggage. Signage was not very good to point to luggage drop off and parking. Port Canaveral is much better.
