We drove down from Keizer Or, 950+miles. We stayed at the Double Tree hotel, which is about a 5-10 minute drive to the port. It was $214 for the night, which is a park and cruise deal. It included a $30 breakfast voucher, a bottle of champagne and some cookies (which were delicious). It would cost us $84 to park our car and who knows how much for breakfast somewhere, so it's not a really high price when everything else is considered. Plus you get shuttled to and from the port.

Embarkation was easy once you get registered, we arrived at the port around 10:45 and we were let on the boat at 11:40. The rooms were not ready until 2:00, so we just milled around checking out the boat. It was in pretty good shape for not being refurbished since 04.

Muster at 3:30, it was really short and held inside the ship in different rooms. Unlike some cruise lines that make you go outside and listen for 25+ minutes. We were able to get back top side for the sail away in plenty of time. The ship leaves at 4:00 so if you want to be top side after the muster you need to go right afterwards.

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MB

Tiny closet, but adaquet. Nice balcony, but the glass on the railing was dirty. Wife grabbed a towel and cleaned the streaks. Not that big a deal. Mostly quiet, but hey it's a floating hotel so your going to get some noise. Actually we were up front 2 suits from the front on the 11th floor so there was not much traffic. However it's very rocky. Not for the sea sick proned crowd.
