We sailed the Eurodam for a Collector's cruise 3/13 to 3/27/16, and it was truly Paradise for us. This was our first HAL cruise, and we enjoyed ourselves so much, that we are going on another 14-day Southern Caribbean on the Oosterdam next March.
Due to spring break, we were unable to get a hotel close to FLL, so we stayed in Miami (at the Miami Airport Hotel) on Saturday evening. Traipsed all the way thru the hotel, but finally found the hotel...broke the wheel on my large suitcase, but handily enough, there was a luggage store right next door to the hotel...how lucky was that? We arranged for a HAL transfer to the port, and it was difficult to find the HAL "kiosk". Turns out the first cruise reps to the Miami airport get the kiosks, but the Regent staff helped us find the HAL rep, and we were at the terminal within 30 minutes. Traffic is tough at the port, even when you are chauffeured! We quickly dropped off our luggage; check-in took awhile to stand in line, but eventually we got our number, and within 30 minutes, we were on the ship.
We dropped our tote bag into our room, then headed for lunch in the Lido, and the crowd was big, but we had no problem finding a place to sit and eat. We thought the food was great, and I especially liked that HAL staff serves you...this is great for your own waistline, plus it limits waste because you get normal servings. I think when you serve yourself, one tends to take too much.
I thought the cabin was great, with lots of storage...we had room to spare in the closets (which is a total surprise if you knew how I pack!) The temp was always perfect, Budi and Elen kept it so nice and clean, and we had no service issues whatsoever! The TV channel selection is great...four different choices for news, many different movies to choose from, as well as TV stations/programming. Was very impressed with the selection!
We were only in FLL to arrive at the terminal....but traffic is congested to the terminals!
We walked around the port area in San Juan, which was fun.
We walked around the port for awhile, and it was very nice!
