Since it was my parent's 50th anniversary, we asked them what they wanted to do to celebrate. They stated that they didn't want a party. Instead, they said they wanted to go on vacation with the whole family. After exploring different options, we all decided to go on a cruise. So I started checking out different cruise lines and deals knowing that my parents did not wish to fly far (they live in Arizona) and that we are all tired of Western coast of Mexico.

Based on the Cruise Critic reviews, we decided to go on the Liberty of the Seas out of Galveston.

We arrived at the Galveston Port at around 10:45 a.m. Based on the comments we saw on Cruise Critic, we were concerned that there would be a long line to board the ship. We were pleased to see that check in and boarding took about 15 minutes (we were on board by 11:00 a.m.). After checking out the ship and eating lunch, we were in our cabins (three cabins connected together by the balcony on the 8th floor) by 2:00 p.m.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D3

Nice large cabin with a balcony. Even so, the cabins could be refreshed since they are starting to show their age.

Port Reviews

Galveston

Not the best looking port. Very industrial.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Great place for shopping

Falmouth

Nice looking port as long as you don't go outside the gates
