What a great cruise! It started on Valentine's Day, so I guess you can't go bad starting on that day. We arrived in San Juan a couple days before to visit a son in school in San Juan. We loved our stay at the Courtyard Miramar. The only downside was that it wasn't on the beach. We knew we would have lots of time on the beach with this port intensive cruise. We did enjoy how close it was to the cruise ship port. Having been to Puerto Rico lots seeing this is our second son to go to college down here, we were anxious to impress our friends with this wonderful island. Not having much time, we decided on the bio bay at Fajardo, Old San Juan, and of course eating at Tijuanas in Condado. These were three winners and I'm pretty sure our friends were impressed.

We arrived on the cruise ship in the early part of the afternoon thinking we'd get a chance at an upgrade. That's a joke. We had both booked an oceanview cabin and were hoping for a balcony. They acted like there was no chance and why were we even asking. Other then that we were impressed with the helpfulness and ease of boarding the ship. Checking out our rooms and finding "yes" the hallway to our room (3138) did have a bad funky smell. We noticed it nowhere else on the ship but our hallway. The rooms didn't have the smell, thankfully, and the rest of the ship was stunning.

Heading to the Windjammer for lunch, we were thankful to save a few dollars right off the bat by eating our lunch onboard. It's so much fun just wandering around and getting our bearings in our new "home" for a week.

Cabin Review

Great room, bad smell in hallway but not in room.
