We flew in San Juan on the day of the cruise and made it on board a few hours early. We booked the transportation (to and back) with Royal, but for some reason our name wasn't on the list, so we took a taxi to the port and found out it cost a lot cheaper to take the taxi. The cost for 2 adults / 1 child around $20 - $25. We booked for a family room with ocean view and my son loved it since he got his own little room. The room was nice and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The crew staffs were friendly and nice. Always smile. We tried the formal restaurant for a couple of nights and it was good. Make sure to make a reservation right when you get on the ship that way you can have your time and your table. You can request the same table if you like. My son loved the buffet, so we went there breakfast and dinner. The ship sells drink packages (one day - $20, etc...), but since we don't drink a lot, so water/coffee/milk were just fine with us. Beautiful ship and have a lot of fun things to do with the family. Most of the ports were nice and clean. I booked most of the excursions on my own. All the beaches were gorgeous.

Barbados:

Port - there were a lot of Taxis and I don't know how much it cost, since we already booked a tour ahead of time.
