We have been loyal Carnival customers since 1994, however our cruise last week changed all of that. We have sailed on several other lines but always chose Carnival when traveling with family. We booked four cabins on the Carnival Dream for the March 20 sailing. It was by far our worst experience on Carnival. It started at the check-in process and continued through debarkation. I wish there was one big issue, that would be easy to get over and move on. Unfortunately, it was large number of smaller issues, day after day, that left us with the clear understanding that the senior staff on this ship did not care much for their guests. Listening to all the issues my party had to deal with over the course of seven days brought me to tears. While we all tried to make the best of it, our memories of this "fun" ship are not the ones we had hoped for. Shame on Carnival!
Here is just one example:
Cabins are cleaned only once a day, our steward explained to use that this is because he is now responsible for twice as many cabins as before. Our four cabins had no soap, only two towels, and no robes. We were told we could call and request these items and he would happy to get them. It made us feel as if we were putting him out to ask for soap and extra towels just so we could shower after traveling to the ship. We got our bar of soap day 2.
went to snorkel at national park, was great but got duped by the tourism guide in port who gave us one price only to find out it was another
