This was our second cruise ever. We took this cruise because we've wanted to go to Catalina Island for a long time and to check out Princess. Would we like Princess? Could we tolerate an inside cabin? Yes and yes!

Check in and boarding went smoothly in Los Angeles (SanPedro). We were directed to a counter to check-in when we arrived. When we left the counter we were handed a number for our boarding group and directed to a waiting area where we waited about 20 minutes for our group to be called. Our ID picture was taken as we boarded. (I'm glad I didn't have to see it because I don't think I took a good picture.) We had only carryon luggage and went directly to our cabin and deposited our bags. At each step of the process helpful staff was on hand to direct and assist us.

Our inside cabin was conveniently located midship on the Caribe deck. Our steward took good care of us-- e.g. by making sure we knew how to get to the right dining room for dinner.

Interior

Cabin IB

Very convenient midship location, but still plenty of opportunity for exercise going up and down.

Mirror and good lighting mitigated any claustrophobic effect of being inside.

No easy chair or sofa.

No drawers-- only cubbies in the dressing area and a shelf above the closet.

Small shower.

Rudimentary toiletries-- I think the product you pump from the box on the wall was supposed to function as both soap and shampoo.
