This was our second cruise with the Breakaway. The port of NYC is just so convenient for us. The cruise itself was overcrowded. We could not even walk thru the main hall at night. We, luckily, made reservations for most nights before the cruise. Otherwise, we would have been stuck with dinner at 5:30 every day, instead of 4 nights.

Our cabin steward, Tony, was wonderful, as was our mini suite. The food was mediocre. I had better on RC and Celebrity but the many options (Uptown and the Asian Noodle restaurant) were great for the kids. My kids visited the arcade and had difficulty with a game, having to swipe the card many times for it two work. This was evident on the bill-as no one can play 7 games in less than a minute. We mentioned that this cost was due to a game issue (and no attendant available) but the guest services refused to take off the charge. I found that unreasonable, considering the amount that we paid for this cruise and for the fact that the kids did not actually play this particular game.

The cruise before ours had to skip Nassau for a medical emergency. Our cruise also had an emergency that did not interfere with our stops but did increase speed on our last two days, making the time on the ship difficult. Obviously, it is worth the inconvenience if someone's health is at stake but the Breakaway seems to have a lot of "emergencies".
