My husband and I LOVE Norwegian. We have sailed on the Norwegian Dawn and the Norwegian Getaway before. We've always had a wonderful experience and impeccable service. The Jade just didn't have it together on this cruise. Our cabin steward dropped the ball completely. There was no Latitudes Reward service from her at all. A second cabin steward was assigned two days into our cruise, probably because someone else complained, I'm guessing. On every Norwegaian cruise, we've had exceptional wait staff at the pool and in the dining rooms. Our waitstaff normally knows us by name and anticipates our needs and choices, not so on the Jade. I had good service from Baby, yes that was her real name, in Alizar. The bartender from Romania is great in the whiskey bar near Le Bistro. The guy in the garden cafe who was in charge of "washy washy " duties was upbeat and wonderful. Otherwise, the service was very sub-par.

If this had been my first experience with Norwegian, I probably would not have sailed the cruise line again.

There were not enough tenders in Belize, and there was a LONG delay for passengers to get off the ship. Many people were worried about making it to their excursions. In Roatan, we had to tender, yet again. ( In three previous trips to Roatan, we've always docked at the pier. The Dawn was in port, and they had precedence over our ship.

Port Reviews

Roatan

Our guy met us on time right outside the customs area. He stayed with us all day and had great suggestions for a future trip to Roatan. He was pleasant and open to adding any stop we wanted to take in Roatan.

Belize City

Nice relxing time on the beach.

Cozumel

We took a cab to one of the local places, Buccanos. It was safe and had great food. The boys enjoyed the pool. The ocean was too choppy to get in the water. There is normally decent snorkeling there when the water is calm.

Houston

Super easy port to sail out off.No trouble parking at the Port.
