the Norovirus outbreak came from a few nuts who used their water bottles to dip in the Fountain of Youth (unsanitized water fountain) in Ponce, drank pigeon tainted water, and got norovirus. It spreads when YOU don't wash your hands. and get microbes from another who didn't wash hands. After the initial outbreak day, the few fountain water numbskulls infected 25 people. In all, at the peak, 2.3 % of ship had norovirus, and I was amazed by the way the ship's crew 'shut down' the virus. The staff worked 18 hours a day to erridicate, closing down corridors and cleaning top to bottom, not 'just the railings' like another poster wrote. EVERY DAY FOR 5 DAYS. There were not 'hundreds' of cases! As part of the health protocal, In the buffet line, handles were turned so we could not help ourselves, we had to be served by kitchen crew. Staff told me they saw people taste food off their plate with fingers, then try and reach in for food, but that practice was halted to shut down the virus. Even desserts were handed to us, and staff had to pour all drinks in buffet line, even coffee and water and juices. "All hands on deck' was the order of the day, with the entertainment dancers and singers pitching in at buffet line handing out desserts so germy guest fingers couldn't cross contaminate. In addition to auto sanitizers at restaurant entrances, there were staff with spray sanitizer at all entrances ("washy-washy")

Port & Shore excursions:

Puerto Rico: bike tour of Old San Juan.. Nice trip with my teen son. rode to fort, didnt go in. Visited state capitol building. nice guide.
